We set proper footings below the frost line, frame with pressure-treated joists sized for your span and load, and flash the ledger board where it meets your house, which is the single most common spot decks fail if it's done wrong. Ours are built to stay solid, not bounce or creak, for decades.

For the decking itself, you've got options: pressure-treated pine is the most affordable and holds up well with basic upkeep, cedar brings a warmer natural look and better rot resistance, and composite boards cost more up front but need almost no maintenance over the life of the deck. We'll walk you through what fits your budget and how much upkeep you actually want to sign up for.

We finish every deck with railings and stairs built to current code, and we're happy to tie it into other work, whether that's a patio below, a fire pit at the edge, or a pergola overhead, so the whole outdoor space works together instead of feeling like separate projects.
